The Nightmare(2025)

The work attempts to visualize the relationship between myself and recurring nightmares through the structuring of emotion and memory, using the black wolf and the white rabbit as symbolic figures. Fragments of leaving my grandmother’s home become projections of my feelings toward her, as well as manifestations of my own underlying anxiety. By deconstructing her name, the character “I,” and the moment of departure, I construct a surreal and disordered dream space. The work transforms materials such as cardboard and bed sheets into an installation, presented on a bed, in an attempt to draw the viewer into my inner world.

As night descends,

the hidden self

turns into a mighty black wolf,

waiting beside my bed,

consuming the fragile, rabbit-like me.

A dream stitched together with blood,

time conspires,

memory supplies the flesh.
